The 2016 Brunello di Montalcino is a pretty and fruit-forward expression of the vintage. Ripe strawberry and cherry waft up from the glass, complemented by notes of mint and a hint of pine. It's soft and focused on purity with a charming inner sweetness, cooling acids and minerals. Although nuanced and feminine, and finishing quite fresh, there's still enough underlying tannin to carry the 2016 Mocali through medium-term cellaring.
