Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno Nebbiolo d'Alba 2011
Colour: Garnet red with shades of ruby which change with age to a smoky orange. Bouquet: Full and fragrant, reminiscent of raspberry. In time it acquires a spicy edge. Flavor: Dry, full bodied, warm and intense. The "edges" of youth are smoothed with ageing into a well balanced, harmonious wine. Food match: A good match for first courses, pastas, and tasty soups. Also perfect with a cheese fondue, especially if richened with white truffle, meat and game. A well aged Nebbiolo would also be suitable for rich dishes.

Wine SpectatorA mix of floral, cherry, leather and spice aromas and flavors highlights this lean, firm red. The tannins are assertive, but this has intensity and complexity.
