Chateau Charmail Haut Medoc 2014
Wine EnthusiastEditors' Choice. Unusually for the Médoc, this wine has a significant percentage (14.5%) of Cabernet Franc as well as 12.5% Petit Verdot. These two grapes give the wine its perfume and its dark color. They add to the rich tannins and juicy black currants that pack the wine. Drink this fine wine from 2020.
Wine SpectatorSanguine-edged red and black currant fruit mixes with an iron hint before following through on a tobacco-edged finish in this red, which is not big, but has some range and purity. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2019. 10,000 cases made.
