Appearance: Pale yellow in colour with greenish glints denoting its youthfulness and freshness. Aroma: A clean nose with intense, complex aromas of white blossom, American lime citrus notes and slight toasted nuances coming through from the oak. Mouth: On the palate, it can be defined as a fresh wine with good acidity, a silky texture and reminders of fruit such as pears. Pairings: A perfect match for vegetable dishes, rice, fish and tapas.
Jorge Ordonez Zerran 2014The D.O. Montsant is a horse shoe shaped appellation that surrounds the D.O. Priorat on three sides. The winery is located near the town of Capcanes next to a nature reserve. Despite the proximity to the Mediterranean the winery is located at high elevation, 500-600 m, which is buffered by the Serra del Llaberia and Serra de Tivissa mountains. The winery owns 10 acres of old vine Garnacha and Cariñena. It also purchases grapes from local grape growers. The soils are similar to Priorat with Montsant being a bit more complex with a mixture of slate, sandy clay, and chalk. The varietal, Cariñena (Mazuelo), was planted on sandy clay soil; Syrah on chalky soils and the Garnacha on slate. The climate is Mediterranean with an average annual rainfall of 450 L.
Bodegas Campo Viejo Tempranillo/Garnacha 2016A cherry red colour, suggestive of a vibrant Tempranillo wine. On the nose, it's rich aromas have a pronounced intensity with an initial scent of ripe red fruit followed by gentle sweet notes of vanilla and spices. On the palate, it is perfumed, soft and fresh with a long finish with notes of fruits, vanilla and cocoa.
